Studying and Training Visas

1. Student Visa - Subclass 500

This is the visa for those who want to pursue full time studies in eligible courses in Australia. This visa allows to travel in and out of Australia. With this temporary visa you can study up to 5 years or more depending on the length of your course. To stay longer you can apply further for a suitable visa. You can work for unlimited hours. You can include your partner and dependent children (age less than 18 years) with you in the visa (You can travel without them). Cost of this visa is from AUD650 for one applicant. Charges for family member will be separate. While applying you can be in or outside Australia. Embassy take time to process your application according to the course or field you are applying in. Visa have multiple entries, and linked to your passport digitally.

Eligibility

  • Your age must be acceptable for the course/years of schooling you selected.
  • You must have evidence of enrollment (Confirmation of enrollment).
  • You must make accommodation arrangements before arrival.
  • Meet the Australia’s language requirements (IELTS- 4.5, TOEFLE- 32, Cambridge English Advanced- 147, PTE- 30, OET- B for each test component.)
  • You must have health insurance. (Overseas Student Health Cover)
  • You must have enough finances for you stay.
  • You must be genuine regarding studies and then leaving the country.
  • Meet Australia’s Health and Character requirements.
  • Must not have visa cancelled or refused.

2. Student Guardian visa - Subclass 590

This visa is for the people who want to come along with their children under age 18, who have a student visa to take care them and support their studies. Student Guardian visa holder can take any English language course or training course for up to 3 months while their stay in Australia. You cannot work. You can stay up to the limit of the student visa holder’s stay before their turning to 18. For further stay you can apply for another guardian visa. Other family members can join you but on their own visa. It costs AUD650 for the main applicant. Cost of health check, biometrics, and polio certificates are separate. Approximate time embassy take to finalize the decision is from 47 to 6 months. You can travel outside the country whenever you want but with the student visa holder.

Eligibility

  • You are eligible for this visa if you are a parent, custodian, nominated relative by parents.
  • Relatives includes: Step parent, Grandparents, step grandparents, Siblings, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, nephew, partner, and child.
  • You must be capable for the accommodation, welfare and support providence to the student visa holder.
  • Must have enough money for the period of your stay.
  • Must have health insurance
  • Must be genuine entrant
  • Meet Australia’s Health and character requirements
  • Must not have cancelled or refused visas before.

3. Training visa - Subclass 407

This visa allows you to come to Australia to take part in occupational training activities or in a professional development training program. Stay for this visa is up to 2 years. Cost is from AUD325 for the main applicant. 39 day to 28 months are required by the embassy to finalize he decision regarding the visa.

Eligibility

  • You must have an eligible sponsor.
  • You must be nominated by you sponsor.
  • You must be 18 years of age.
  • Meet Australia’s Health and character requirements
  • Have a proper health insurance.
  • Be genuine with your intensions.
  • You must meet functional level English language requirements.
  • Must not have cancelled or refused visa before.
